Collector in-charge H Arun Kumar directed the officials concerned to make all arrangements for ‘Saraswathi Pushkarams’ to be held from May 30 to June 10 at Kaleshwaram.
The collector held a review meeting with the officials over the arrangements being made for the 12-day river fest at the conference hall here on Thursday.
Arun Kumar said that pilgrims from all districts and neighbouring states like Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra will throng the river banks. He suggested the officials to erect pandals to provide shelter to the pilgrims.
R&B officials were asked to expedite patch works from Mahadevpur to Kaleshwaram and to widen the Godavari road. The executive engineer was asked to arrange for sufficient parking area.
The collector asked the officials to conduct special sanitation drive at Kaleshwaram and a medical camp.
The district public relation officer P Srinivas was asked to look into the cultural programmes to be held in the evenings.
