The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board is worried with 50 dockets where the door delivery of water bills to the consumers is poor. The poor delivery of bills in different divisions is leading to adverse impact on revenue collections. While CPDCL and some others through outsourcing are delivering electricity bills to the customers at their doorsteps promptly, the Water Board does not have such a plan.

HMWS&SB officials told Express that they have listed out as many as 50 dockets where the delivery of bills is unsatisfactory, and as a result the revenue collections are dipping.

The percentage of bill delivery ranges from 9 per cent to 69 per cent in the identified 50 dockets. Each docket consists of 1,000 to 2,000 connections.

Meter readers and outsourcing agencies have to issue bills on monthly basis to the consumers. The dockets cover mostly old city areas as well as posh areas like Jubilee Hills, Chandanagar, Marredpally, Hyderguda, Kukatpally, Madhapur, Somajiguda, Uppal and Prakash Nagar.
