Beer aficionados in the city rounded out the Oktoberfest in style at the beverage-themed Sunday brunch at The Square, Novotel Convention Centre. Coupled along with the seafood fest happening at the restaurant, the brunch had a host of dishes that brought out the bittersweet best of the liquor.
From live counters to a smattering of delicacies braised, buttered and baked with beer, the feast was a belly-full. A Beef Carbonnade, Beer-soaked Bratwurst and Beer batter fish were part of the specially crafted menu that also included chicken, lobster and baked vegetables. While the dessert section didn’t get too experimentative, a sushi ice-cream was a hit. The fruit-centered vanilla ice cream wrapped in chocolate had many takers.
This year, the Oktober fest also included beer cocktails for the first time.
For those who were ready to get into the swing of things, games like beer pong and beer relay were organised. Hosted by Carlsberg, participants walked away with special prizes.
Oktoberfest is the world’s largest fair held annually in Munich, Germany. This 16-day festival usually runs from late September to the first weekend of October and sees more than six million people from all around the world attending every year. The seafood festival is still on at The Square over weekends, till the end of this month.
