For the first time, the Cyberabad police opened history-sheets against persons who were caught red-handed for organising cockfights. The Kushaiguda police raided cockfight camps and arrested 17 persons, including a 22-year-old student on Monday. Police also seized `63,420, ten cocks, eight two-wheelers and 17 mobile phones.
The Special Operation Team (SOT) has concentrated on cockfight organisers based on the directions of Cyberabad police commissioner CV Anand. They identified eight organizers who systematically conducted these fights on the outskirts areas/farmhouses, particularly in Pet Basheerbagh, Kushaiguda, Shamshabad, Keesara, and Dindigal. History-sheets are being opened against them.
Based on reliable information, the SOT conducted raids along with the local police in Shiva Sainagar and Kushaiguda.
The arrested persons have been identified as N Venkateswarlu ,Kunchella Subha Rao,Cheedi Srikanth, A Ramanjaneyulu, Annapareddy Thirupathaiah, Bijjam Thirupathi Reddy, Ganji Yedukondalu,Haneeru Sreenu, Hanumanth Rai, Venkateswarlu and others.
