Woman ends life: Husband, in-laws held

According to Alwal police, the victims are Spandana and her son Triloknath. Spandana’s husband Trishoolnath is a mechanical engineer working with a private firm. Based on a complaint by Spandana’s parents, police registered a dowry death case and took Trishoolnath and his parents into custody.

According to police, around 1.30 am on Wednesday, the victim took her son, who was sleeping, and jumped off the third floor of the three-storeyed building. Trishoolnath was at work when the incident took place. Minutes after the incident, Spandana’s in-laws shifted the victims to a nearby hospital where doctors declared them brought dead,” said sub-inspector Gangadhar.

For the last one year, the victim was being harassed by her husband and in-laws demanding additional dowry. Spandana went to her parent’s house and returned only on Tuesday evening. Soon after she returned, her husband had quarrel with her on a petty issue. Later, the victim was abused by her in-laws, police said.
