HYDERABAD: Nominations will be received from contestants for Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) elections on Thursday and Friday. Returning officer T Vittal will receive the nominations between 10.30 am and 4 pm at the SCB office. Among the total eight wards, wards 3, 4 and 7 are reserved for women and ward 8 is reserved for scheduled castes (SC). There are about 1,60,000 voters in SCB limits. There is no clarity yet on whether elections will be held through ballot system or electronic voting machines. Meanwhile contestants have been busy with efforts to convince their party top leaders to receive their support on Wednesday. Nominations scrutiny will start on December 15. Withdrawal of nominations has to be done o December 19. Final list of contestants will also be published on Dec 19 and symbols will be allotted to contestants on Dec 20. Elections will be held on January 11 and results will be announced on Jan 13.
