14 Held During Search and Cordon Operation

HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad police conducted cordon and search operation at Yellammabanda, PJR Nagar, Sikh Basti in KPHB police limits in the city on Saturday night and took custody of 14 suspects for questioning to verify their antecedents.

In their special operation, police found that many residents in those localities were involved in selling liquor by running belt shops illegally. Police seized liquor bottles.

With reports that Irani gang from Parli of Maharashtra and ISI agents and Maoists taking shelter in slums, police have started the cordon and search operations.

The police conducted cordon and search at PJR Nagar, Guru Gobind Singh Colony under the limits of KPHB where about ten criminals are residing as per police records.

The crime records revealed that a few pockets in Yellammabanda area have become shelters for vehicle lifters, burglars, and ex-Maoists.
