Andhra Government Announces Several Sops for Archakas

The state-level committee on Archakas of endowment temples has announced several sops to them which include increase in marriage loans to Rs 1 lakh.

A decision to this effect was taken by AP Government Archaka and Welfare Trust chairman IYR Krishna Rao and others.  According to a release issued on Wednesday, the marriage loan has been increased to Rs one lakh, medical reimbursement limit was increased from the current Rs 75,000 to Rs 2 lakh.

The amount to be given for Upanayanam of the children of Archakas and employees of the temples under endowments department has been hiked from Rs 10,000- Rs 25,000.

If the children pass Archaka entrance test within two years of their Upanayanam, an amount of Rs 25,000 will be deposited in their accounts. This will help to keep the culture and tradition in tact, the officials felt.

A proposal to implement insurance package instead of medical reimbursement to Archakas and employees of government temples is under consideration.

For those aged above 65 years and financially weak the endowments department is planning to support them financially.
