HYDERABAD: A day after 26-year-old Satyavani died after she fell into the overflowing nala near Uppal bus stop in Secunderabad, GHMC commissioner Somesh Kumar chose to say that if Satyavani had taken minimum precaution while walking on the parapet wall of the storm drain, such an incident would not have happened.
Mayor M Majid Hussain announced `1 lakh ex gratia to the deceased’s family.
He said Satyavani to avoid walking on the flooded road climbed the parapet wall and did not see that slabs were removed and fell.
