HYDERABAD: Civil Supplies Commissioner C Partha Sarathi emphasised the need for implementation of supply chain management - a new system developed by the authorities to contain diversion of goods.
He held a video conference with senior officials of National and State Informatics, Joint Collectors and district supply officers on Thursday to apprise them of the benefits of the system. There are 172 mandal-level stock points in the State and all centres have been provided computers to implement the same, he said.
“The officials concerned in each district have to attend to this project on a war- footing. Efforts have to be taken to provide power and internet facility to these computers and project should kick-start in two months,” he told officials. According to him, the new project would ensure that there is no diversion of goods during transportation between Food Corporation of India (FCI) and fair price shops.
