2 Minors Found Hanging from Same Ceiling Fan

HYDERABAD: Two minor girls were found dead under suspicious circumstances at their residence in Rehmatnagar, Jubilee Hills here Sunday.

The duo, identified as Shruthi (13) and her cousin Bhavani (15), were found hanging from a ceiling fan side by side at the latter’s residence.

Locals, who found the bodies, immediately alerted the police. A suicide note, purportedly written by them, was found in the room and it claimed no one was responsible for their extreme step. The police registered a case of suspicious death and are investigating.

In a similar incident, a B.Tech student committed suicide by consuming sleeping pills at the JNTU campus in the city. L Balakrishna, a BTech drop out and a resident of Moosapet, was found in an unconscious state right in front of the Manjeera hostel.

The watchman rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. Police said Balakrishna had left a message on his mobile stating that he was going to end his life. KPHB sub-inspector G Ramesh said the victim was detained in his second-year BTech due to various reasons. As his family members are daily-wagers, he had financial difficulties, he explained. The police registered a case of suspicious death and are investigating. Sources said Balakrishna went to his room around 11.30 p.m. on Saturday night along with his friend.

Next, he was seen in an unconscious state in the early hours of Sunday. His fellow students said he had been suffering from depression for a few weeks now and was worried about his academic prospects.
