NIFT Hyderabad Admission Schedule Announced

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Hyderabad-based National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has announced admissions for the academic session starting July. The admissions will be carried out through written examination on February 14, followed by group discussion and interview.

NIFT associate professor M Annaji Sarma told newsmen here Saturday that the premier institute of design, management and technology in the fashion industry offers a four-year graduation and two-year post- graduation courses with excellent placement opportunities.

“The NIFT also offers various fee subsidy schemes for meritorious, deserving and economically weaker section students. We also have tie-up with banks for educational loans at a concessional rate,” he said.

The NIFT is also organising counselling sessions in various cities in Andhra Pradesh for Intermediate and degree students, to understand about the NIFT, its courses, activities and career prospects.

For the under-graduation courses, design streams like fashion design, textile design, accessory design, knitwear design, leather design and fashion communications are offered where candidates with an educational qualification of Intermediate or its equivalent in any stream are eligible.

To pursue under-graduation in technology courses like Bachelor of Fashion Technology (garment manufacturing), an aspirant must have an Intermediate or its equivalent with MPC background. The post-graduation in management (Masters of Fashion Management) is similar to MBA course where any graduate from any stream and university is eligible.

As per the scheduled, the online registration for the examination will be open till January 10. The last date for online registration with a late fee of ` 5,000 is January 16. The fee remitted for applications registered after January 10, will be accepted only through Credit/Debit cards.

In case of a demand draft, the printout of application along with the DD should reach the NIFT in Hyderabad before January 16.

The written entrance examination for all UG and PG programmes will be on February 14.

The situation test/group discussion/interviews, will be in April and May. The final results will be declared online by May-end or June.
