Hyderabad Police Arrests 1 for Old Stamp Papers Sales

HYDERABAD: City police apprehended Musuku Venkat Reddy for selling outdated non-judicial stamp papers. The accused was arrested on Friday based on a tip off. He collected huge sums of money from people in exchange for outdated stamp papers.

Police recovered as many as 1560 empty non-judicial stamp papers dating back to 2005, 2007 and 2011-2014 from his possession and a total sum of Rs 1250.

The 49-year-old is the owner of Sri Sai Stamps and Stationary at Old Ranga Reddy Court Building, Shop No.26, Huda Complex, Saroornagar and a resident of Venkat Ramana Colony in Hastinapuram East, Rangareddy.

Police said the accused is a licensed stamp papers vendor and he is running a stamp papers selling business located at Saroornagar in the name of “Sri Sai Stamps and Stationary”. He procured outdated non-judicial stamp papers from various vendors and started selling them at high rates by breaching the government rules for easy money.
