Spiritual leader, Mata Amritanandamayi Devi is undertaking a ‘Bharat yatra,’ primarily to reach out to the poor and needy and spread the message of love and serve, besides blessing the large community of devotees.

The Bharat Yatra which begins from North Kerala, will traverse through Mysore, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and concludes on April 4 at New Delhi. She will be travelling by road, as is her usual practice, along with a group of 600 disciples, making impromptu halts on the way, where she will hold satsangs, bhajans and serve food to the villagers.

As part of the Bharat Yatra, Amma will be at Hyderabad on March 15 and 16 to shower her blessings on the large devotee community present in the city and both the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Politicians, prominent citizens, officials, cine stars are expected to meet Amma and seek her divine blessings.

During her stay

Amma during her stay in Hyderabad at the Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Mahendra Hills, East Marredpally, will distribute Educational Scholarships – Vidyamritam to 1000 more students. Currently the Math is supporting 5000 poor students with scholarships. The institution will also aid 500 more widows and destitutes through the pension scheme ‘Amrita Nidhi’, taking the total number of beneficiaries in the two states to 3,500 and will release a Souvenir Amritaarpanam - 2015 on Sunday, March 15.

She will hold satsang, bhajans, meditation and will be available for individual darshan to devotees on Monday, March 16 from 10 am onwards.

SeRVe

Amma has also initiated a unique programme - ‘The Amrita SeRVe’ (Self Reliant Villages). She will be adopting two villages as part of The Amrita SeRVe, one each in both the states – Kodur in Medak district in Telangana and Gudipaticheruvu in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. Amma believes empowerment of the village can be accomplished only through the empowerment of women at home.  As part of this, volunteers of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math will provide the women of the villages with basic education, vocational training and address their healthcare needs.

Tuition classes will be conducted for children in the villages from primary level to Eamcet coaching and free training will be provided at tailor training centres.
