5-day Programme to Mark Death Centenary of Jamia Nizamia Founder

HYDERABAD: Jamia Nizamia, the 144-year-old education institution in the city, is going to observe the death centenary of the institution’s founder Hazrat Anwarullah Farooqui, by organizing seminars, public meetings. Renowned scholars from different parts of the world are expected to attend these programmes.

Announcing the events at a press conference here on Thursday, the institution vice-chancellor Maulana Mufti Khaleel Ahmed said that seminars in Urdu and Arabic would be held on Feb 14 and in English on February 15. “On March 20, 21 and 22, a public meeting, convocation ceremony and Mushaira, will be organised,” he said.

MP and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, who attended the conference, said that professors and scholars from different parts of the world would attend the event to be organized on February 15.

The institution offers educations to students from class 1 to MA, in Urdu medium. About 1,500 students are pursuing education there. English language is also taught to students from class 10.
