Jaguar Cubs Set Free in Enclosure

HYDERABAD: Two jaguar cubs were on Wednesday released into their new enclosure for public display at the Nehru Zoological Park here.

Chief Wildlife Warden and Principal Chief Conservator of Forest PK Sharma named the cubs , Piyush and Priya. They were born to Suchi and Salman, who were also inmates of the same zoo. The cubs are about 8 months old.

Sharma said that steps are being taken to bring animals from other zoos like Chattishgarh, so as to find mates  for the animals who now feel alone in the Nehru Zoo enclosure.

The Wildlife Warden of the Zoo also said that there were about 25 tigers in Telangana’s two tiger reserves in Amrabad and Kawal. He termed the zoo one of the best on the continent  and congratulated its employees on the occasion.
