'AP Didn't Approach Hacking Team'

HYDERABAD: Ortus Consulting, a private company, on Sunday clarified that no one from the AP government or intelligence unit had approached it to procure telephone tapping equipment.

Reacting to reports that the AP intelligence was in talks with Milan-based Hacking Team for purchase of snooping equipment, Ortus CEO Prabhakar Kasu said the reference to AP in his mails to the Italian firm was only an “intent” on approaching southern states for giving presentations on various solutions. "The email to Hacking Team was regarding interception solutions to know their price and product," he said.
