Retired MRO among Six Held for Fraud

HYDERABAD:  A retired deputy mandal revenue officer (MRO) who allegedly stole data regarding government lands located in various places in the city and created fake documents to establish that the land belonged to private persons, was arrested along with his five associates Thursday.

According to police, the retired deputy MRO V Ramanuja Rao, 70, conspired with others to create fake and fabricated documents pertaining to 15 acres of government land in various places in the city.

Police seized 16 fake land documents, 232 fake rubber stamps, 158 old non judicial stamp papers (including that of Nizam’s period), one type writing machine,  nib pens, revenue stamps, passbooks and laminated files.
