Vigilance Panels for Civil Supplies

HYDERABAD: The state government on Thursday constituted Vigilance Committees to monitor the activities of Civil Supplies Department to ensure better delivery of goods under public distribution system.

The chairman for State-level vigilance committee will be Civil Supplies Minister while commissioner of Civil Supplies will be the vice-chairman.

Respective district collectors will be the chairpersons for district level committees and joint collectors will serve as vice-chairpersons.

The respective revenue divisional officer or sub-collector will be the chairperson for mandal level committees while MPP chairpersons will serve as co-chairperson.

Sarpanch will be the chairperson for Gram Panchayat level vigilance committees. Leaders of various political parties will be made members of the vigilance committees. The State government issued orders to this effect on Thursday.
