HYDERABAD: With the sole aim of emerging victorious in the upcoming GHMC polls, the state BJP has begun efforts to take on its political rivals.
As part of this, the BJP’s Election Management Committee held its first meeting here on Thursday to chalk out strategies and the party’s course of action for next three-months.
With Union labour minister Bandaru Dattatreya as its chairman, the Election Management Committee has 30 senior BJP leaders. The committee would provide guidance to the party on issues to be taken up, selection of candidates and promotional strategies. Speaking to newsmen, BJP leader K Laxman said all efforts would be made to strengthen the party from ward level to win maximum seats. He said the party would work towards making Hyderabad a world-class city, if voted to power.
He added that civic works are going on well in Nagpur, Surat and Delhi municipalities, where BJP is in power.
