Summer with Latin Music

Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music (SAM), Tamil Nadu, college for contemporary music invites applications from aspiring musicians for the seven-week summer intensive programme starting from June 1. This will provide an opportunity to master skills in music performance and production with internationally renowned masters in music.

The faculty line up for the summer has a balanced mix of renowned International and Indian artists. It includes the singer - songwriter Magos Herrera (Mexico) who rose to international acclaim when she was nominated in the International Grammy’s for her album “Distancia”. Magos will focus on vocal technique, improvisation on Jazz, Brazilian and Latin repertoire. She has also taught masters classes in music schools like Berklee College in Boston, Central College in Pella, Iowa, Miami Dade College, Kuala Lumpur Music Academy, Escuela Superior de Música in Mexico City. The application for the course will be open till the end of May 2015. The total fee for the course will be inclusive of food, accommodation and facilities like gym, pool, media lab and library. Apart from the Summer Intensive, the courses offered by SAM are diplomas in music production and performance as well as a four-year international Bachelor’s programme in music performance in association with McNally Smith College of Music, USA.
