HYDERABAD: Umesh Singh has assumed charge as the new additional general manager of the South Central Railway (SCR) on May 4. He belongs to 1979 batch of Indian Railway Service of Stores (IRSS).
He has succeeded SK Agarwal, who has now taken charge as the additional general manager, Northern Railway, New Delhi. Before this new assignment, he was the Controller of Stores (COS), South Central Railway. Previously, Umesh has held several important assignments at various zones including Western Railway, South East Central Railway, East Coast Railway, North Central Railway etc.
He was also instrumental in optimising the performance standards in both material and sales management.
