Web Portal to Monitor ST Sub-plan Funding

HYDERABAD: The State government has announced that it would spend `5,035 crore for improving the living standards of tribals, and a separate web portal would be set up to monitor the flow of funds earmarked for the ST sub-plan.

Tribal Welfare minister Ajmeera Chandulal reviewed the implementation of the programmes planned under the ST sub-plan with officials here on Tuesday.

He voiced concern over not meeting the envisaged targets, and instructed the officials to work towards the implementation of the quarterly plans. He said, for tribal families, who have been consuming less than 50 units power per month, the government will provide up to `105 crore to clear their pending arrears. He said the government is planning to give 100 per cent subsidised loans to tribals, or provide the cost of a unit for setting up a small-scale business.
