Heavy Rain Lashes City, More to Come

HYDERABAD: People were caught unawares as heavy rain lashed the city on Wednesday evening throwing life out of gear.

Heavy downpour was witnessed in and around LB Nagar, Vanastalipuram, Uppal, Ramanthapur, Tarnaka and Secunderabad. Traffic, at some major junctions came to a standstill and roads were inundated and trees were uprooted in many places including Champapet.

Bringing a much needed respite from heat, maximum temperatures appreciably fell at one or two places across the state too. A highest maximum of temperature of 41 degree celsius was recorded at Hanamkonda.

The city recorded a maximum of 37 degrees on Wednesday morning. Met officials at the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre predicted more isolated rainfall across the region.
