HYDERABAD: Officials of the Directorate General of Central Excise Intelligence, Hyderabad Unit arrested the executive director of Qualicare pharmaceutical for evading central excise duty to a tune of `1.15 crore. The accused was produced before the economic offence court in Nampally and shifted to judicial remand.
The deputy director of Directorate General of Central Excise Intelligence, Hyderabd Zonal Unit, Amresh Kumar, said that they registered a case against Qualicare pharma located in IDa Bollaram of Medak district for clandestine manufacture and clearance of artificial sweeteners of ‘Equal’ and canderal brand involving central excise duty of `1.15 crore.
The executive director of the firm V Anand Kumar was arrested and produced in the court.
