'I Let my Skin Breathe'

HYDERABAD: There is no dearth of beautiful looking women in Bollywood. But very few of them can fall into the list of being beautiful naturally. One among them is Aditi Rao Hydari who flaunts her exceptionally beautiful skin with very little make-up, even when she is shooting. Ask what makes her look beautiful with very little effort she proudly says, “It is genetic. It has been gifted to me by my mother Vidya Rao and my grandmother Shanta Rameshwar Rao.”

Though the Aur Devdas actress says she doesn’t like exercising, she swears by yoga and dance. “I am trained in Bharatanatyam, I follow all dancing styles. Even on busy days, I make it a point to do yoga or dance as they help me be at the optimum of fitness,” explains the Hyderabadi lass.

However, physical activity is not the only secret to being fit for Aditi. Having right food at the right time is equally important. “People should make sure that they do not abuse their body. The health of our hair and skin widely depends on the kind of food we eat,” the 27-year-old says adding that even while she is working, she makes sure that she sleeps on time. “This helps me avoid piling up a lot of make-up, something that I dislike. I let my skin breathe and make sure I eat healthy.” Aditi explains.

The actress swears by kitchen beauty remedies. To give a fresh look to her skin even after day-long shoot, Aditi uses besan or oatmeal to wash her face. Soap on skin is a strict no. “I use honey when my skin feels dry and sandalwood when it’s oily,” she informs.

Aditi, who rose to fame after her performance in Yeh Saali Zindagi by Sudhir Mishra in 2011, has her bad days too. “My hair sometimes looks messy, my skin looks pale, I also have breakouts. But instead of applying make-up to conceal my flaws, I apply a drop of foundation when I have to go in front of camera,” she says.

Apart from just exercising regularly and having right food, the actress also plays sports and likes to read and gives a lot of importance to being happy and peaceful. “A cranky person doesn’t look beautiful. Therefore, to look pretty,  it is important to be happy,” she opines.
