HYDERABAD: Asserting that the Modi government has brought about a positive change in the country in the last one year, Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Thursday rejected allegations that it was under-performing.

Rathore, who was in the city to present the progress report of the NDA government, listed the various initiatives undertaken to ensure social security to the people and propel the economy forward. When his attention was drawn to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s remarks that Modi government’s performance was zero, Rathore replied, “A zero cannot give zero marks to the government.”

On former minister S Jaipal Reddy’s comments that ministers in the NDA government, particularly Sushma Swaraj, had been reduced to mere dummies, he shot back, “Am I a dummy? Sushma Swaraj is, in fact, the best minister in our cabinet.” He went on to add, “Even if our ministers are dummies, at least, our PM is not’’ - in an obvious reference to former prime minister Manmohan Singh and the erstwhile UPA regime.
