Low Footfall at IIT Madras's 'Sampark' Programme in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Sampark, the outreach programme of Shaastra, the annual technical festival of IIT Madras, had only few takers this time. The two-day event which started on Saturday at the Vasavi college of Engineering was able to attract merely 500 members only.

M Sai Raghava, organizer of Hyderabad Sampark, said “We were informed on Monday about the event and Friday being holiday we had only three days to complete all the arrangements. Based on that, I think the crowd turn out was reasonably good. Last time Sampark was held at Osmania University and I was a participant. More than 1,000 people attended then.”

Shaastra is well-known for being one of the biggest and best technical festivals in Asia and the first in the world to be ISO 9001:2008 certified.
