No Holds Barred

The gloves came off on Twitter on Monday as director Ram Gopal Varma and producer Ganesh Bandla were involved in a sensational war of words about actor-politician Pawan Kalyan.

It all started when Varma, an ardent Pawan Kalyan fan, declared October 12th as World Pawanism Day and said he would reach out to the whole world.

“On this World Pawanism Day, I truly believe that Sardaar Gabbar Singh will reach out to the entire world, more than Baahubali,” RGV posted on Twitter.

Ganesh Bandla, who produced Pawan Kalyan’s 2012 blockbuster Gabbar Singh, responded by tweeting, “What we know is our world, so for us the day he entered our world is Pawanism day.”

An irked Varma snapped immediately and tweeted, “World I meant in the context of Schopenhauers eulogism as defined in Pawanism book, can’t down my literacy for illiterates (Sic).”

The comment seemed to have touched a nerve as Bandla quickly retaliated, saying, “You may be educated but for people like us who aren’t as educated as you are, Pawan Kalyan is Vivekananda. Maaku book avasaram ledu, Pawan Kalyan look maa meeda padithe chaalu (We don’t need books, just a glance from Pawan Kalyan is enough).”

Not one to back down, RGV continued to attack the producer’s ability to comprehend his intentions.

“There’s no bigger PK fan than me and it will take eons of primary school education for you to even comprehend my aphorisms. You just said that you don’t want to read. How can anyone teach, who doesn’t want to learn (Sic),” he fumed.

“Anybody who read Pawanism book will understand the intricacies of my thought intrusions. You are misdirecting and corrupting PK fans, “ the director lashed out.

Finally, Bandla had the last word when he said, “Books mee laanti vaallu maa lanti vaallani chadivi educate cheyandi. Yekkirinchakandi (Educated people like you should educate us, don’t make fun of us).
