Children's Film Fest Website Launched

HYDERABAD: State cinematography minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav launched the 19th International Children’s Film Festival website at the Secretariat here on Friday.

The event, to be held here from November 14 to 20, will be organised as a state function. The inaugural and concluding functions will be held at Shilpa Kalavedika at Madhapur.

The government prepared an eight-minute curtain-raiser song to welcome the delegates. The song would highlight the rich Telangana culture and tradition. The minister also formally launched the CD of the song.

Speaking to reporters later, Srinivas Yadav said that around 450 children from various countries would participate in the film festival. Around 75 representatives from production and direction fields too would attend the festival.

Yadav said arrangements would be made so as to make Hyderabad a permanent centre for hosting the international festival. The state government constituted eight committees with 42 members for smooth conduct of the international event.

As many as 1,204 entries have been received for the 19th International Children’s Film Festival. The entries have been sent to Children’s Film Society of India (CFSI) which will shortlist the films to be screened during the film festival.
