Ravindra Gupta Takes Charge as SCR GM

HYDERABAD: Ravindra Gupta assumed charge as General Manager of the South Central Railway (SCR) here on Friday.

Earlier to this posting, he served as chief mechanical engineer, Western Railway, Mumbai. Ravindra Gupta belongs to the 1975 batch of Special Class Apprentice (SCA). He began his career in the Indian Railways as assistant mechanical engineer at Itarsi, Central Railway in 1981. During his 34-year long career, he held several important executive and managerial positions in the Indian Railways.

These include additional divisional railway manager (Allahabad Division/ North Central Railway), chief workshop manager, Jamalpur/ Eastern Railway), divisional railway manager (Chakradharpur Division/South Eastern Railway), chief workshop engineer (Mumbai/ Central Railway), senior deputy general manager, Mumbai/Central Railway and chief administrative officer, Diesel Locomotive Factory/Marhaura, Patna/ East Central Railway.

He also held several important assignments on Rail India Technical and Economic Service) and RDSO (Research Designs and Standards Organisation) during his distinguished career.
