Don't Butcher Cows or Calves During Bakrid: City Police

HYDERABAD:  In view of Bakrid festival, the South Zone police directed butchers that animals should be sacrificed only after obtaining proper certificate from veterinary doctors.

They urged public that any information about people transporting cows or calves must be passed on to police at 040-27853500 or 100 and asked people not to take law and order into their hands.

South Zone DCP V Satyanarayana counselled 70 butchers of Falaknuma Division. The DCP requested butchers to cooperate with police while transporting and selling animals for Bakrid, which will be celebrated parallel to Ganesh festival. Police said that waste of animals should not be dumped on roads near Ganesh Mandaps, residential areas or Ganesh immersion procession routes.

Butchers were asked not to transport cattle in route of Ganesh immersion procession and cattle selling places should not obstruct the procession.
