HYDERABAD: Given the Hyderabad Metro Rail’s innovative financial model and engineering ingenuity, it will become a role model for other infrastructure projects worldwide, HMR managing director NVS Reddy said.
“Such projects can only be successfully executed with conviction, dedication, dogged perseverance and grit,” he said while inaugurating the 16th Foundation Day celebrations of Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence at Ramakrishna Math here on Friday.
Addressing a gathering of management, engineering and other students on ‘Leadership challenges in executing Hyderabad Metro Rail project’, he recalled the multiple obstacles he faced during the initial stages and explained how he converted every challenge into an opportunity. Citing the HMR example, which is the largest mass transit project in public-private partnership (PPP), he explained how he turned around this once written- off project into an award winning initiative.
Reddy urged the students to develop their skills to serve vulnerable and needy sections of the society.
