Hyderabad Police Department Told to Foot Bill for 1 Lakh CCTVs

HYDERABAD:The police department has to bear the expenses for installing the one lakh CCTV cameras from its regular budget.

Chief secretary Rajiv Sharma held a meeting with top brass of the police department on installing CCTV cameras in the city under ‘Our City, Safe City’ programme. Sources state, the police officials submitted the draft plans for installation of CCTV cameras at all commercial establishments, schools, hospitals etc. both at entry and exit points.

“The chief secretary suggested some modifications in the draft. No final decision has been taken,” a policeman said.
