HYDERABAD: We all go to a lot of get-togethers and meetings regularly. How about celebrating it in a German way this year?
Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad is organising Stammtisch to inform people about the traditions of Oktoberfest celebrations. The event will have Oktoberfest music, competitions and games, quiz, Bavarian costumes, German snacks, etc,.
Stammtisch is usually a group of people who experience and enjoy German in an informal setting, followed by chat and snacks. This time our theme is “Oktoberfest”. This is a large folk festival of fun and beer, attracting millions of people every year. Centuries ago it started as a celebration of a royal wedding. Today the festival is influenced by German Unity Day, one of the most important German holidays. It is celebrated on October 3 as a public holiday.
Registrations are open till October 1.
