HYDERABAD: An uninformed weekend trip to Goa landed four Hyderabadi youths into a Goa police station.
Four Class 9 students from Uppal in Hyderabad's Cyberabad East commissionerate limits went missing from home on Tuesday night along with their mother's jewelry and slipped into a bus to Goa.
However, after their parents lodged a complaint at the LB Nagar Police Station, Telangana police contacted their Goa counterparts, who nabbed the four teenagers and kept them at the Panaji police station.
A Hyderabad Police team has been dispatched to bring back the four teenagers.
The four students of class 9 are residents of Uppal and Sivaganga colony in LB Nagar.
"Two students took earrings and bangles from home and unspecified amount of cash. They then took a bus to Goa on Tuesday night. However, after a complaint was lodged in LB Nagar, the Goa police was informed who then nabbed the four Hyderabadi teenagers and kept them at the police station. A police team was sent to bring them back," said Uppal Police Station Inspector Y Narsimha Reddy.
"A missing case was lodged at LB Nagar police station. The teenagers from LB Nagar didn't take gold with them," said LB Nagar PS Inspector P Kasi Reddy.
When contacted, Panaji Police Station Inspector-in-charge Siddhant V Shirodkar said that the youths have been kept at the Old Goa Police Station. However, Old Goa PS Inspector Krishna P Sinari denied having nabbed any youth.
