Is your purified water pure enough?

With market flooded with a variety of water purifiers, the least one can do is to choose the right one.

HYDERABAD: With a sweltering summer coming to an end, monsoon is the most anticipated season of the year, a breather and respite from the unbearable wave of heat and the scorching sun. Although monsoons are a pleasant change, it brings along a host of diseases and infections -- severe gastroenteritis, diarrhea, vomiting, food poisoning and other illnesses. One can follow some basic tips to evade a spate of diseases that strike during this season. With market flooded with a variety of water purifiers, the least one can do is to choose the right one that ensures the water you drink is safe and healthy.

Mere boiling is not enough

The fact is that boiling water is effective towards water-borne bacteria and virus but it has no effect on chlorine content and cysts, nor does it remove turbidity, organic and inorganic impurities. Also, water needs to be boiled for minimum 20 minutes on-roll for it to effectively deactivate the disease-causing micro-organisms. Secondly, boiled water kept in an open container to cool down, is prone to re-contamination.

There is no one-size-fits-all technology

People assume that there is one technology that can solve all water problems. The fact is that there are 17 different kinds of water conditions across India and there is not one size-fits-all solution that can be adopted to purify water. It is important to understand the water quality and accordingly decide on the purifier

RO (Reverse Osmosis) is meant to remove certain heavy metals and contaminants which are found in ‘few’ locations, not all. When one uses an RO purifier where it is not exactly suited, there is wastage of 7 glasses of drinking water for one glass of drinking water.

Purifier that retains essential minerals & vitamins

Demineralised water or low-mineral content water - in the light of the absence or substantial lack of essential minerals in it - is not considered ideal drinking water, and therefore, its regular consumption may not be providing adequate levels of some beneficial nutrients. There are range of superior and customised water solutions available in the market that are equipped with patented Mineral Cartridge & Biotron technology which magnetises & declusters water molecules and provides more than just safe water, in other words, healthy water

Advanced Technologies that fight new-age contaminants

Generally, water supplied from lakes, rivers, and harvested rain water has a lower concentration of TDS, whereas the water drawn from borewells or supplied by tankers has a higher concentration of TDS and other harmful chemicals. Choose a water purifier that has the ability to remove the new-age contaminants.

Water treatment (or purification) is like any other form of treatment -- one needs to know what is wrong before you treat the symptom. The solution here lies in choosing the right water purification technology to insure the health of your near and dear ones.
