HYDERABAD: The Special Operations Team of LB Nagar police raided an apartment at Mallikarjuna Nagar in Medipally police limits on Sunday and busted a spurious liquor manufacturing racket.The SOT team arrested two men, one of them a wine shop manager, and seized 24 bottles of various brands such as Mansion House and Royal Stag, 53 empty bottles and ` 5,550 in cash from them.
The arrested are M.Durga Prasad, manager of Vinayaka Wines, and M.Ravi, a worker. The proprietor of Vinayaka Wines, Gangadhar, is absconding.
Police said the accused made spurious liquor and fill it in empty bottles of branded liquor. These bottles thus filled with spurious liquor are sold at Vinakaya Wines retail outlet.
