Labourer Hurt as Detonator Explodes

HYDERABAD: A 37-year-old worker was hospitalised after suffering burn injuries when a detonator exploded at the Mission Bhagiratha project site. The mishap took place at Kesavaram in Shamirpet police limits on Monday.

The injured person Kanaka Rao is a daily wage worker. The Shamirpet sub inspector K Chandrasekhar Reddy said few months ago, the workers blew a stone by planting detonators to construct water pipeline as part of Mission Bhagiratha project. However, a detonator that was planted has been abandoned at the place.

Some persons were working at the project site at Kesavaram on Monday when the abandoned detonator exploded suddenly. In the mishap, Kanaka Rao suffered burn injuries. Immediately, the site supervisor alerted the police who visited the place and shifted the victim to nearby hospital where he is undergoing treatment. His health condition is stated to be stable.

Man Bludgeons Wife, Daughter to Death, Held

A husband  has been arrested for murdered his wife and daughter by smashing their heads with a boulder while the victims were asleep. The incident took place at GM Chowni in Chatrinaka on Monday .
