Corporate Boardroom to Coffee Table Poetry

HYDERABAD: You would imagine a corporate manager to be in a stiff blazer, punching away at the keyboard or barking off orders to his subordinates. But the 38-year-old Sudipto Mitra is one who wouldn’t mind being caught with a pen in his mouth and dreaming away about what to write next. A profound poem or impactful prose?

The Senior Divisional Retail Service Manager in Indian Oil, Sudipto says that balancing his time between corporate management and writing stories and poetry comes naturally to him. He says writing is his passion and Danielle Steel is a favourite. “I have a passion for the written word and I am currently working on a concept which I plan to publish within three months,” he says excitedly.

His first writing happened four years ago. “Writing is something that starts when you are  bored and English is the language I am comfortable with when it comes to speaking or writing,” says Sudipto. A student of St.Xavier’s College, Kolkata, he likes to script random and positive thoughts. Sudipto’s associaton with Indian Oil dates back to over 16 years. “I like writing when I come back home after work since that is the time I’m in my own world and also I don’t like my writing to hinder my work”. The passionate writer is a qualified chemical engineer.
