'Alternative to manual scavenging'

HYDERABAD: Magsaysay award winner and Safai Karmachari Andolan founder Bezwada Wilson on Sunday said that if a human enters a sewer line, he stands a risk of death and that scientists should think of a solution to end the practice.

He was speaking in the backdrop of death of three manual scavengers and one rescuer in the sewers of Madhapur here on Saturday. He added that talks of freedom and development are futile when when people are made to clean excreta of other humans.
