HYDERABAD: Hyberabad police on Sunday arrested four persons in connection with the case of the building collapse, in which 11 persons were killed.

According to sources, police is also set to arrest the officials of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation in a day or two, who have reportedly taken bribe.

The building owner, T Satyanarayana Singh alias Sattu Singh, violated the norms and paid bribe to the GHMC officials, said Cyberabad additional DCP B Srinivas Reddy.

Sattu Singh, his son Anil Singh, mason B Venu Gopal and civil engineer A Shivarama Krishna have been arrested, the officer said.

“Sattu Singh and his two sons Anil and Sankesh, had constructed a seven-storey building in just 267 sq yards, on a plan drawn by engineer Shivarama Krishna of Guntur. The building is an illegal construction. Evidence suggests that bribe was given to some GHMC officials so that they do not create any trouble,” said the additional DCP.

It is found that the excavation done for the adjacent building was very close to the footing which has definitely compromised the load bearing capacity of the footing. “Plans of the buildings constructed by the accused earlier, will also be given to the experts to find if any violations are done,” the officer said.
