HMR to Take Up Negotiations with Property Owners

White House, Mebaz building owners in Begumpet allow works on their premises

HYDERABAD: The town planning officers of Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) have been instructed to talk to the owners of a few affected properties at the Jubilee Hills checkpost, Peddamma temple, Madhapur and Durgam Cheruvu metro stations on Jubilee Hills Road No 36 to facilitate entry and exit points of the metro stations.

HMRL managing director NVS Reddy, along with senior engineers of HMRL and L&TMRHL, inspected the metro rail viaduct and station works between Begumpet and Hitec City on Metro Rail Corridor-III on Thursday.

He also instructed them to remove the encroachments such as electric transformers put up by some property owners and advertisement poles on the footpaths and in the setback areas in violation of the building plans sanctioned by the GHMC.

He interacted with some property owners and shop-keepers concerned for facilitating metro rail station works and for smooth flow of traffic.

The owners of White House and Mebaz buildings at Begumpet have agreed to allow construction of metro rail pillars in the front portion of their buildings. While a portion of White House will be cut to make way for a viaduct, only the open space in front of Mebaz building will be used for laying metro pillar foundation. Both the buildings will, however, be saved and alternate entry and exit will be created at Mebaz building during construction by the Hyderabad Metro Rail authorities.

Though the construction of metro pillar and viaduct has been completed near Kanaka Durga temple on the Greenlands-Ameerpet stretch, about 25 to 30 feet area of a few properties on the left side of the temple will be acquired for free flow of road traffic.

Only 25 to 30 feet of open area will be acquired at Divya Shakti Apartments in Ameerpet and Dhananjaya Apartments in Madhapur and the apartments will be saved.

L&TMRHL has been instructed by NVS Reddy to repair leaking water and sewer lines and improve the road condition on the Yousufguda-Madhura Nagar stretch.

L&TMRHL has also been instructed to take up metro foundations and pillar works in the balance portion from Yousufguda to Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy Stadium and complete them in the next couple of months.

He instructed L&TMRHL engineers to complete the ground works, restore Road No 5 in Jubilee Hills and open it to road traffic within one and a half months.
