Youth, Family Booked for Stalking

The LB Nagar police registered criminal cases against an Intermediate student and his family for allegedly assaulting and stalking a Class X girl. The incident took place at Mansoorabad.

According to police, one Koneti Eshwaramma, wife of Mallesh, 38, resident of Mansoorabad lodged a complaint with the police alleging that one Shiva, an Intermediate student, was following the complainant’s daughter K Chandana, 15, Class X student, and insisted her to love him since four months.

The accused also sent messages and harassed her. Upon receipt of information, about 20 days ago, the complainant advised him not to follow her daughter. However, the accused did not mend his ways.

On Friday, the accused and his brother Sridhar have had heated arguments over the love issue and after that Sridhar and his family members Anitha, Shyamala and Shravani criminally trespassed into the complainant’s house and abused the victim girl Chandana in the absence of her parents. The girl alerted her parents and informed them that the accused have also abused, assaulted and threatened her with dire consequences.

Based on the complaint, police registered cases under various sections against Vevaraiyala Shiva, Sridhar, Anitha, Shyamala and Shravani.

Guard Foils Theft Attempt at Andhra Bank

A security guard posted at a bank averted theft attempt made by unknown persons on Thursday night in the city. Some miscreants tried to make a hole to one of the walls of Andhra Bank in Chikkadpally and ran away leaving the tools behind after night security guard tried to catch them.

According to police, some miscreants went to the bank and tried to drill a hole to enter into the bank. When the miscreants were at work, the guard heard their voices and tried to catch them. However, the miscreants ran away. 

Police said they collected footage of CCTV cameras and would verify the identify of the accused soon. 

Attack on Kanhaiya: MBT Seeks Action against BJP MLA 

MBT leader Amjed Ullah Khan on Friday wrote to Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy seeking action against BJP MLA Raja Singh for allegedly encouraging Go Raksha Dal members to throw shoes at JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar, on Thursday. In the letter, Khan said during a meeting to express solidarity with death of Rohith Vemula, Antharam Naresh Kumar, president of Go Raksha Dal, an organisation affiliated to RSS and BJP, threw shoes at Kanhaiya while he was addressing a meeting. “As per our sources, the attacks on Kanhaiya Kumar were pre-planned by Raja Singh, BJP MLA. This has to be investigated as the attackers are close followers of him. The police under political pressure are trying to hush up the case,” he alleged.
