Man in Hyderabad abducts minor girl, assaults her sexually

A 31-year-old man, who assaulted a minor girl sexually for the past three days, was arrested by the Kalapathar police in the city on Wednesday.

HYDERABAD: A 31-year-old man, who assaulted a minor girl sexually for the past three days, was arrested by the Kalapathar police in the city on Wednesday. The girl was rescued and taken to hospital for medical examination.

The arrested is Mirza Rahmath Ali Baig, a resident of Alibagh in the Old City.

On April 17, the girl’s mother lodged a complaint with the police that her 16-year-old daughter had left home on April 14 without informing anyone. On the following day, her daughter contacted her on the mobile to say  that she, along with her friends, were at Himayatsagar lake and would return home soon.

The mother said that on making inquiries she came to know that one Rahmath Mirza, who resides near Fatima Hospital in Kalapather, had taken her daughter along with him. On April 16, complainant’s son went to Rahmath Mirza’s home at Ali Bagh found him in a compromising position with the girl. On seeing them, Rahmath Mirza ran away.

The complainant asked her daughter about the incident. The revealed that Rahmath Mirza developed friendship with her for the past 15 days and promised to marry her. The girl believed him and eloped with him. The girl was confined in the house of Rahmath Mirza for three days and was sexually assaulted.
