HYDERABAD: Students who came to attend the common MPhil and PhD entrance exam to Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University on Thursday, will now have to wait for further announcement on rescheduled exam dates.Minutes into the distribution of OMR sheets, one of the students, Mukund Rao was caught with answers written on his hand. Following this, students started an agitation stating that the question paper was leaked. Plunging into action, Prof Elluri Siva Reddy, vice chancellor addressed the students. The students then suggested that an inquiry committee be constituted to look into the matter.
According to officials, Prof Reddy also sought help of students in identifying members for the committee and after the committee looked into the matter, it was concluded that the there was paper leakage and Mukund was debarred for mal practice. Out of the 50 questions in Paper I, he had listed 30 answers and only five tallied with the answer key, said the committee report.While 325 hall tickets were issued, authorities could not confirm number of students who attended the exam as the mal practice was reported even before the exam started.
