HYDERABAD: In the wake of multiple accidents caused due to overspeeding, accident prone localities and to-be-modified curves have been identified by Hyderabad Traffic police in association with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
In case of Tuesday’s accident in Banjara Hills too, it was overspeeding and the deadly curve on the road that claimed the life of a BTech student. Joint commissioner V Ravinder said, “We have taken measures to prevent accidents keeping in view of accidental prone localities. In the stretch of Road No 3, we have consulted GHMC officials to make speed breakers near the place where the accident took place.”
The joint commissioner also put the responsibility of such mishaps on the parents and advised them to think twice before giving vehicles to youngsters. “We are conducting awareness camps at schools and colleges on traffic rules,” he said.
Autorickshaw goes berserk
A day after the ghastly accident on Banjara Hills road number 3, a speeding auto went berserk and rammed passerby and vehicles in front of Falaknuma Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) office on Wednesday.
In the mishap, a teenager received bleeding injuries in his eye while a 40-year-old person’s leg was completely chopped off. Falaknuma police said the mishap took place due to rash and negligent driving of the auto driver. The policemen who posted there shifted the injured to nearby hospital for treatment. Police has detained the auto driver who too suffered injuries.
