Main area of  Hyderabad Metro to be ready by inaugural

24 metro stations along the 30 kilometers Nagole-Miyapur stretch of metro rail will be ready by the time it is to be inaugurated.

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited’s MD NVS Reddy said on Wednesday that street-level facilities at all 24 metro stations along the 30 kilometers Nagole-Miyapur stretch of metro rail will be ready by the time it is to be inaugurated. PM Narendra Modi is ‘likely’ to inaugurate the metro rail by November 28. Assuring the Governor, Reddy said that the main station area of 220 meters (Zone ‘B’) will be completed at almost all the 24 metro stations by the inaugural time and that the remaining works in ‘A’ and ‘C’ zones will be completed in the next couple of months, said a release by HMRL.

The Governor along with Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao and L&T Metro Rail Chairman SN Subrahmanyan undertook a ride in the metro from SR Nagar to Miyapur on Wednesday.

Communication Based Train Control system which gives a final train frequency of two minutes to the metro rail, in-built driverless train technology which permits operation of metro trains and limits role of the loco pilot, special layout of metro stations and advanced braking system which result in energy saving up to 40% were some of the technologies and facilities employed in the HMRL.
