Man held for lodging false complaints

Malkajgiri police on Monday arrested a realtor B Prakash Reddy (50) for lodging false complaint against his relatives.

HYDERABAD: Malkajgiri police on Monday arrested a realtor B Prakash Reddy (50) for lodging false complaint against his relatives. The realtor, who was reportedly upset with his relatives for not repaying debt, filed false complaints with the cops alleging threat to his life.

Police seized several SIM cards, which Prakash procured using forged identification proof of his relatives.

According to police, Prakash had lent `5 lakh to A Anil Kumar Reddy and Showrilu in 2010. The duo, however, did not repay the money and Showrilu, instead, lodged a sexual harassment complaint against Prakash. An enraged Prakash planned to harass the husband-wife duo and lodged false complaints against them for making threatening calls to him.

He managed to acquire their ID cards and forged them to get SIM cards of various service providers in their name. Using the numbers, he sent abusive text messages to his mobile, and based on it, lodged complaints.

“He lodged complaints at Chaitanyapuri, Malkajgiri, Neredmet and Gachibowli police stations. Recently, with the help of his friends, Prakash managed to abandon a car at Maredmilli in East Godavari in AP, keeping ganja and a mobile phone in it.

When cops checked the vehicle, they found SIM cards registered on Anil and his wife’s name,” said Malakjgiri DCP Ramesh Naidu, in a press meet.

The DCP said Maredmilli police have arrested Deva Naik and Yakub in the ganja case. On Monday, Prakash was arrested and sent to judicial remand.
