HYDERABAD: In the view of Hanuman Jayanthi and the birth anniversary of Hazrat Imam Ali falling on the same day, on Tuesday, Hyderabad Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy on Monday said that stern action will taken against anyone indulging in untoward incidents during the processions.

The commissioner said that the city police have taken all security measures for smooth conduct of the processions.

“We have deployed heavy forces at all sensitive places to prevent untoward incidents. We have convened a meeting with the procession organisers and directed them to follow police rules. We will not hesitate to take stern action if anyone indulges in untoward incidents,’’ the commissioner warned.

The community members would take out a procession from Old City to Moulali Dargah on the occasion of Hazrat Imam Ali’s birthday. The procession will start at 6 pm. Traffic restrictions will be in place on Tuesday.
